The buffet is finally finished!
I was skeptic as to whether or not it would be worth refinishing, but it totally was! Check out the before and after below…
After sanding it down all the way to the original wood (Pine I believe) I stained it with Minwax Dark Walnut then applied 2 coats of Rust-Oleum Ultimate Polyurethane in Clear Gloss.
Since the goal is to eventually have this built into the kitchen, at the garage door where a coat closet is, I am thinking I’ll use the same pulls as are in the kitchen.
For now this piece will stay in the “ever changing living room” and be used as a bar. Amidst all the painting and refinishing we were able to get together with friends on Thursday and Friday night!
Friday we entertained for friends who have just moved back to town. The menu was simple, summer and southern…marinated grilled chicken, corn on the cobb and Paula Dean’s tomato pie, YUM!
Wishing everyone a relaxing weekend. We’re staying in to rest today after 2 late nights. Sunday we’ll be in Atlanta to celebrate P’s dads birthday.
