This past weekend was CRAZY. Birthdays, Halloween, football. Have I mentioned how much I love the holidays, entertaining and a house full? Well as of today I can check off all three.
The fun started on Saturday with a Golden Girls themed birthday dinner for a childhood friend.
After hearing she was coming to town and wanted to celebrate I jumped right into entertaining mode (overlooking the fact that Halloween was 2 days later and We’d invited the neighborhood over…another party for another day)
First things first…a theme! Every party needs a theme right? Ever since we were little she has LOVED The Golden Girls. With this knowledge + an all girls dinner= theme decided!
Next came the invite…
Simple, not cheesy and leaves (no pun intended) the door open to decor (which will be minimal, its is also Halloween too!)
Finally down to the nitty gritty…budget, food, beverages & to-do lists.
The table was simply set with some simple DIY placemats…
and my grandmothers china & silver…
Another dear childhood friend who is beyond thoughtful and creative made these koozie party favors!!!
Throw it all together with some yummy food and you have a nice evening with friends…
Apps & cocktails:
Cheese platter w/ Apple Cider mimosas
Oil & Vinegar salad (family recipe)
Brie/Tomato/Basil pasta dish & french bread
Thank you for being a friend….
